CANADA'S PRIEMIER TEXAS DALL RAMS
The Texas Dall Ram has been coined "The Poor Man's Dall" as they are relatively inexpensive to hunt compared to the mighty Dall Rams of the north. The Texas Dall was developed in Texas when Two solid white lamds were born to a Corsican ewe, the rest is history. Today it is one of the most popular species of exotic rams harvested on hunt ranches throughout the nation. Being the farthest northern hunt ranch in North America we have the longest hair of any exotic sheep you will find in North America, something only the Cold Canadian winters can create!
Texas Dall Ram
Ours are just so much more impressive than the ones killed in Texas with all that hair. This exotic white sheep is prized by exotic hunters for their extraordinary trophy horns. Their enormous rounded horns curve both downwards and outwards with a tan-like color, and can grow up to 40” in length. Bagging one of these beauties for mounting is a trophy hunter’s dream. The Texas Dall is a colour phase of the Corsican sheep, with its solid white coat and heavy "ruff" on its neck. This sheep is by far the most popular Corsican sheep variety to hunt. If you’d like to hang one of these trophies on your wall, please give us a call.
About Corsican Ram Meat . . .
All breeds of Corsicans and Mouflons yield lean, delicate-flavoured meat with none of the “muttony” flavour, that many people find distasteful. The carcass is much leaner than domestic market sheep, and has a brighter red color. It resembled the carcass of a lean goat, and is often said by many people that the meat tastes more like beef than sheep.
PLEASE NOTE: All exotics must be "pre-ordered" before the guest arrives, and the hunt booked for that specific species. All species of exotics will be of exceptional trophy class, scoring well in the SCI Record Books. Please contact me so we can discuss what your expectations are and what I can deliver. Meat only animals will not be of trophy class, and the price will reflect this.
